Ian Russell ventured to sunny Devon to enjoy a lake-exclusive trip on Willow Lake at the renowned Devonshire carp fishery, Furzebray Lakes.

Often regarded as the jewel in the Southwest carp fishing crown, Furzebray Carp Lakes is a widely recognised fishery that not only holds an incredible stock of big carp, but it offers lake-exclusive bookings as well as a loaded tackle shop right on site! This carp fishery is home to three lakes, Island Lake, Willow Lake, and Copse Lake, which are all stocked with carp. The lakes are surrounded by woodland and green fields, offering a tranquil setting for all anglers.

With high pressure, cold easterly winds and all be it hot daytime temperatures, Willow Lake was going to be no pushover! Ian Russell was certainly up for the challenge and talks us through a range of tactics and tricks he often uses on some of the most pressured venues around the UK.

Opting to fish a social double swim with Catch’s own Dan Murrell, this was going to be a welcome break for the two anglers with some incredible carp to target and plenty of laughs and BBQ action planned for their session.
